Kimaka McNair-Willis
Catalyst Session: Winning the Race for Talent
Friday, March 13   8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
213 B-D   Anaheim Convention Center
Block: 1    Session: 1-04

Jump-start your CAMEX experience with one of the opening Catalyst Sessions. Then dig into application at your store via the follow-on Catalyst Discussion Forum. Catalyst Sessions are designed to engage you in "deep thinking" about issues or trends critical to successful campus retail. Afterward, join the related Catalyst Discussion Forum round table session targeted for your store size and discuss the implications and applications of the Catalyst Session.

Kimaka McNair Willis is an accomplished speaker, professional coach, and author. She blends authenticity and integrity with humor and excitement to deliver a message that will motivate you to redefine how you approach your search for talent. The emphasis on hiring and retention has created a frenzy for finding academically and technically talented people. While intellectual talent may be enough to get employees through the door, it is neither enough to sustain their continued growth for the duration of their career, nor the sole reason they were hired in the first place. Employees must understand that they bring more to the table than their intellectual property. As they recognize their worth and the unique qualities that they bring to the organization, they can begin to make more meaningful contributions to the organization.

Kimaka has graciously donated a limited quantity of her latest book for session participants. She will hold a book signing following her Catalyst Session and follow-on Discussion Forum.

Catalyst Discussion Forums for all Catalyst Sessions will be offered by store size: Larger Stores ($7+ million), Mid-size Stores ($1-7 million), and Smaller Stores (under $1 million).
